Tuchel bemoans lack of focus as Bayern slump to final-day defeat

Departing Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel was unhappy with his team s lack of focus following their 4-2 loss at Hoffenheim on Saturday.

Bayern threw away a two-goal lead, condemning them to a third-place finish behind unbeaten Bayern Leverkusen and Stuttgart

After failing to win the Bundesliga title for a 12th consecutive season, Tuchel s side will also go without domestic or European silverware for the first time in more than a decade.

We started really well, but then we had a string of individual mistakes, Tuchel said in a short press conference.

The coach is leaving Bayern after just over a year in charge after the club announced his departure in February. There had been talks to potentially reverse that decision last week, but no agreement was reac…

Flores defends goal-shy Ighalo after Liverpool defeat

Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores believes his side had enough chances to draw with Liverpool at Anfield after watching his side lose 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.

Joe Allen put Liverpool ahead deep in the first half, before Roberto Firmino sealed the points with a deflected strike that Heurelho Gomes could not keep out.

Odion Ighalo had Watford s best chances but the striker, who has not scored for 12 league games, was denied by Simon Mignolet when he had his clearest sight of goal and Flores defended his out-of-form forward.

It s a pity because we had a lot of chances with Odion in the second half of the season, but the result is final. Scoring is not easy, Flores told BBC Sport.

In the second half, he could have received a penalty. Yes [he sh…

With former midfielder Guardiola in charge, Barca secured three Liga titles, as well as two Copa del Reys and two UEFA Champions League crowns in a glittering four-year spell.

The 42-year-old departed Camp Nou after surrendering the league to Real Madrid, and is currently topping the Bundesliga with German champions Bayern Munich.
